Redskins reportedly re-sign Zach Brown

As first reported by JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington, the Redskins have agreed to terms with one of last year’s starting inside linebackers, Zach Brown:

The NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported that the deal is for 3 years and $24 million:

Brown came to the Redskins last season on a one year deal after spending 2016 with the Buffalo Bills. Despite missing the final three games of the season due to a variety of injuries, he was the Redskins’ leading tackler with 84 tackles and 43 assists, and added 2.5 sacks on the year. Brown led the NFL in tackles until he went down for the year.
Pending the results of the upcoming NFL Draft, it is expected that Brown will start alongside fellow inside linebacker Mason Foster during the 2018 season.

You may laugh at me for putting this out, but you don’t see the kinds of questions people send us.
We had a prime example already Tuesday morning of how the news machine can sometimes break. A Twitter account under the handle “ImRKnapp” tweeted, “Former #Seahawks DE Sheldon Richardson has agreed to a 3 year deal with the #Vikings im told.”
As of noon, that tweet had been liked 370 times and retweeted more than 200 times. The tweeter claims to be from the site MMQB while also being an ESPN Insider — the first red flag since those are competing sites. It’s an unverified account (second red flag), from which the first tweet was sent three days ago (giant flashing red light) and the photo of the alleged “Richard Knapp” claiming to be the author is actually the first image you find if you Google “creepy white guy” (OK, that’s actually pretty funny).
But plenty of people believed it — and the message got amplified when Bleacher Report picked up the tweet and turned it into a story about Richardson signing with the Vikings citing ImRKnapp as the source.

I think the better example would be that the parents rob the bank and enrich your life (education, etc) and finally, after several decades, it is discovered, and then no restitution is ordered. In that case, what you do is take all their possessions, and erase their minds, and dump them in a van down by the river where they’ll learn some other imperialist language they can claim ignorantly as their own.
Paying restitution is difficult in that situation (esp in a non-societal society like ours that sees everything in terms of individual rather than tribe), is the point. But if there’s no consequence for it, then you don’t really have a policy. If you are going to have a policy you need to enforce it or re-visit the policy. Like, you know how there was this idea in business where 10% of people get fired every year. Well, maybe the lowest 10% performing citizens in the country have to leave, and we let in a new 10% every year?

The distinction is that it is a criminal violation to intentionally enter the country without documentation, but it is not a criminal violation to simply BE in the country without proper documentation. So an adult who, e.g., crosses the Rio Grande without clearing customs violated the law, but a person who entered legally, or without fault (such as a minor), is simply here without authorization and is subject to deportation.

He got beat down at the grade state last weekend. The kid is weird… when he’s on he’s unstoppable… when he tries to cut corners he gets pounded. Don’t understand how he can keep cutting corners… and it’s tourney specific. He’ll either dominate a whole tournament or get crushed a whole tourney… there is no middle ground.
You never know. Could get lucky and fight a few people who are just terrible. I came in 2nd in a Taekwondo tournament when I was 10 mostly because the first 2 people I fought kept going out of bounds when trying to do jump kicks.

To be fair, Scamp, you can watch Fox News or MSNBC for like 10 minutes, and know exactly what those shows (not newsfeeds) are about. I am moderate/liberal and watched MSNBC for less than ten minutes and knew what that channel was all about. It really doesn’t take much.
And to be clear, after watching about 10 minutes of MSNBC, I’ve never tuned back.
I don;t believe that to be true. If you watch 10 minutes of shows like Hannity or Morning Joe you would miss a lot of divergent opinions on the channel. You might get the obvious bias immediately, but you would miss some actual legitimate debate on issues.
I’m sure the same is true with MSNBC, too. But really the bias on both sides is obvious, I’m not interested in the overall agenda they are pushing. My opinion.

I live in the NYC area (own a condo across the Hudson in Hoboken, NJ). Lived for a few years in Manhattan.
Yes, there are a few. People that have rent controlled apartments don’t move (often, when that person moves, the rent control is removed). However, the overwhelming vast majority of apartments in NYC are not. My guess is that less than 5% are.
There are some apartments that are income controlled and partially subsidized by the city (or the city gave approval for the development of a new building, but required the building owner to have a certain percentage that are “affordable housing”). Reality is, though, that many of those affordable housing units aren’t rented out as affordable housing as the income qualificiations for them require such little income but the rent is still not proportionate to the income requirement.
When we were looking to buy a place, we looked at some neighborhoods under development that had some beautiful condis available for like $500,000 (and that would be a huge bargain) BUT you’re income had to be less than $120K a year. You have to find a buyer with a lot of cash and most people living in the NYC area making $120K a year, don’t have that kind of cash.
Long and short, NYC prices, whether renting or buying, are absurd, and there aren’t really and “bargains” or the like.
You can find an okay deal if you go way out to Queens, my grandma’s brownstone, she charges the only $750 the top floor apartment. She charges the guy on the 2nd floor $1300, because he’s an asshole.
$500,000 would get you probably 5000 – 5200 sq feet in my Houston suburb.
Couldn’t even buy my current home for that during the housing crash and it’s 1800 sq. ft.
Housing in Houston’s relatively cheap compared to most major cities. My Sister in law’s place that is about the same size as ours in terms of square footage, but probably 25% less in terms of cost.
Probably some fantastic deals to be had in flood-prone areas.

The punter thing hasn’t been confirmed by the team yet, but regardless: they are better off at QB and WR, for sure. There is a hole at LG that needs to be filled still, so that’s a weakness. The defensive backfield is a wash at this point but for a slot corner, which they will find. I don’t think moving either Dunbar or Moreau into Breeland’s spot is a loss, really.
I’d argue that we’re no better than even at QB. It is not arguable that db is a wash after losing Breeland and Fuller. We are much weaker at db now.
I think Moreau, who basically didn’t play much last year, is as good as Breeland. They are missing a slot CB, yes, but they’ll find one.
And as far as QB goes, the savings the team got as a result of going from Cousins to Smith created cap space, and they spent some of it on Paul Richardson, so that’s a win to me.
We have no idea how good Moreau is, but even if he’s as good as Breeland, losing Breeland is a loss in terms of depth and experience.

Just from looking at the photos of that bridge, the thing that I don’t like is the single centered run of webbing and panel points connecting to top and bottom chords. Sure, it looks really cool, but I don’t see how you tap into the strength of the horizontal road decks to absorb moment with only a center run of webbing. This would mean moment resistance is dependent on the rigidity of the webbing and panel points. I haven’t researched it, just a casual observation.

I think we get Gallete back and that will give us the same 4 OLB’s we had last year.

I am a Teddy fan and really wanted us to stay with him, HOWEVER, I am willing to turn the page and embrace Cousins. If recent history is a guide, he has potential to be better with the Vikings than with his previous team. I am willing to give him a fair shot with some very solid QB coaches, better receivers and a better defense to take the pressure of having to put the entire team on his shoulders week in and week out. His floor is higher than the others and so is his ceiling.
But ENOUGH with the personal attacks, please. We all get enough of that out in the real world with the current political climate. If you want to get into it, go to Facebook or whatever. This is a place I come to get away from all of that divisiveness and bitterness.

Typically, just the outside lane is closed as that’s the only one the truck needs to be in to reach under a bridge. One thing you don’t notice while driving across a bridge is just how much the things move. Depending on the type of bridge and the length between piers or towers, when you stop and stand, you feel and see all the vibrations and the swaying going on. Get out on one of those inspection trucks and it’s magnified. By a lot.
If I was doing a bridge with girders or if what I was inspecting could be reached by climbing to it, as soon as I had something to grab onto I’d get out of the bucket and do my thing. The bridge might be vibrating to all the vehicle traffic, but those damn booms could end up bouncing if not kept under control. Mostly it was anooying and made inspection difficult. But every now and then, one of those trucks ends up going over the rails. And I’m like…nope!
Yeah that the one . The bridge I referred to is only a two lane bridge with no shoulder at all. So it requires stopping oncoming traffic. The water moving below can screw you up if you look at it for any length of time and yes the bridge is always vibrating .
