Remaining 2026 offseason schedule

Now that we’re through the draft, here’s what we can expect from the NFL and Washington for the remainder of the offseason:

  • Phase One of Washington’s offseason program beings on April 20
  • Deadline for clubs to exercise fifth-year option for players selected in the first round of the 2023 Draft: May 1
  • Clubs may elect to hold their one three-day post-Draft rookie minicamp from Friday through Sunday or Saturday through Monday on one of the two weekends following the Draft: May 1 – 4 or May 8 – 11
  • NFL’s Rookie Football Development Programs begin: May 11
  • NFL schedule release: May 12 – 14
  • Spring League Meeting: May 19 – 20
  • Washington’s OTA Offseason Workouts: May 27 – 29, Jun 2 – 4, June 9 – 11
  • Washington’s mandatory Minicamp: June 16 – 18
  • Rookie Readiness Program to be held at individual clubs: late June
  • Deadline for any club that designated a Franchise Player to sign such player to a multiyear contract or extension: July 15, 4:00 p.m. ET
  • Training camp: Late July. Based on last year’s calendar, I anticipate that rookies will be required to report on July 17 and veterans on July 21, but that’s just my guess.
