Kicker – Mark Moseley with 161 points in 1983 and John Riggins with 144 points in 1983.

Fun fact: Highest ranked WR is Terry McLaurin with 78 points.

Kicker – Mark Moseley with 1,206 points and Charley Taylor with 540 points.

Fun Fact: Mark Moseley is the only kicker to win the AP MVP award in 1982.

Unfun Fact: I remember Knight from the Lombardi and Allen years. I did not know he only had 57.7% success rate on field goal attempts.

Mosely was Washington’s kicker from 1974 to 1985, which brought stability to the position. He played in 182 games. Only Chip Lohmiller has more than 100 games, with 112 played. Dustin Hopkins is third with 93 games played.

Depending on how you want to slice the data, if you pick the floor at 13 attempts it is Mark Moseley with a 95.2% completion rate in 1982 (MVP Season). If you set the floor at 12 attempts, Joey Slye was perfect in the 2021 season going 12 for 12 in 6 games with the team.

If you set the floor at 50 career attempts with Washington, Kai Forbath is first with 87%, Joey Slye is second with 84.8% and Dustin Hopkins is third with 84%.

Fun Fact: Only five kickers have more than 100 field goal attempts with Washington: Moseley, Lohmiller, Hopkins, Knight and Shaun Suisham. Fourteen kickers have 50 or more attempts.

Why bother with a lot of questions? The answer is going to be Tress Way.  Total yards, average, net average, inside the 20 – all Way. The only significant record Mike Bragg still has is most career punts and Way is only 64 behind him. Way’s season average is 72 punts per season, but the last two seasons have been under 60. It may take two seasons to pass Bragg for most career punts if the offense is decent this year.

Punts – Eddie Brown set the record in 1976 with 646 yards, with Brian Mitchell holding down second and third places.

Kickoffs – Rock Cartwright set the record in 2006 with 1,541 yards, with Brian Mitchell holding down second and third places.

Kickoffs – Brian Mitchell with 9,586 kickoff return yards, with Rock Cartwright second with 5,332 yards.

Mitchell should get a more serious look from the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Punts – Brian Mitchell with 7 punt return touchdowns. Rickie Harris, Bert Zagers and Dick Todd are second with 3.

Fun Fact: Jaylin Lane set a rookie record with 2 punt returns for touchdowns in 2025 season, including a 90-yarder that tied a franchise record set by Jacquez Green in 2002.

Kickoffs – Four players are tied for first with 2 kickoff return touchdowns Andy Farkas in 1938-1944, Eddie Saenz in 1946-1951, Hall of Famer Bobby Mitchell in 1962-1968, and Brian Mitchell in 1990-1999.
