Kansas City Chiefs at Baltimore Ravens

The game was fairly even through the first quarter, which ended tied 7-7, but over the course of the game, the Ravens’ miscues built up and would not let them catch up to the Chiefs. Taylor Swift’s boyfriend, also known as Travis Kelce, caught the first touchdown pass from Patrick Mahomes to put the Chiefs up 7-0. Lamar Jackson led the Ravens back on the next drive and he hit Zay Flowers for a 30 yard touchdown on a scramble. Jackson also rushed for 54 yards in the game. Kelce ended up with 11 receptions for 116 yards and one touchdown. Flowers had 8 catches for 115 yards and one touchdown.

Despite turnovers, including two fumbles and one interception, the Ravens defense kept them in the game. In the second quarter, Isiah Pacheco scored a touchdown and Harrison Butker added a 52 yard field goal just before the half. The Ravens shut out the Chiefs in the second half but only could muster a Jason Tucker 43 yard field goal late in the fourth quarter. The Chiefs ran out the clock after that and won 17-10. Deon Bush had the interception for the Chiefs.

Detroit Lions at San Francisco 49ers

The Lions started out with a roar, scoring touchdowns on their first two possessions of the game, while the 49ers missed a 48 yard field goal when Jake Moody kicked it wide right. The 49ers scored a touchdown on their second possession, going 75 yards in eight plays. Christian McCaffrey scored the 2 yard touchdown on a run and also had a 28 yard reception on the drive. After Malcolm Rodriguez intercepted a Brock Purdy pass, the Lions drove the short field and Jahmyr Gibbs scored on a 16 yard run. The Lions added a field goal later in the second quarter to take a 24-7 lead into halftime.

The Lions did not roar in the second half. Moody nailed a 43 yard field goal on the 49ers first possession. The Lions turned it over on downs instead of kicking a field goal at the 49ers’ 28 yard line. Brandon Aiyuk caught a 51 yard pass that bounced on the defender, who failed to intercept it. Three plays later Aiyuk caught a 6 yard pass for the touchdown to cut the lead to 24-17. Gibbs fumbled after the ensuing kickoff which was recovered for the 49ers by Arik Armstead . Purdy scrambled for 21 yards to set up a 1 yard touchdown by McCaffrey to tie the game up.

After forcing a three-and-out on the Lions, the 49ers were able to drive down and take the lead on a 33 yard field goal by Moody. George Kittle had a 28 yard reception on the drive, and Purdy added a 10 yard scramble. The Lions stopped the drive with consecutive sacks, which put the 49ers in a third and nineteen, which they did not convert. The 49ers scored the game sealing touchdown after the Lions turned it over on downs, with Elijah Mitchell scoring on a three yard run. The Lions added a late touchdown by Jameson Williams but there was not enough time left to mount a further comeback. 49ers won 34-31.
