Game Impactors

First one was the roughing the kicker call on the first Washington punt which gave the Commanders a first down and seemed like a positive thing at the time. Taylor Heinicke was strip-sacked on the next play to give the Eagles a short field on which they scored four plays later.

Benjamin St-Juste was called for defensive pass interference again this week. There was obvious hand fighting going on and St-Juste was able to knock down the ball but the Eagles ended up with a first goal at the six. They scored on the next play.

Dallas Goedert fumbled the ball in the fourth quarter, which was recovered by Jamin Davis, but what was missed was an obvious facemask penalty on Davis which would have negated the turnover allowing the Eagles to keep the ball. Joey Slyve was able to kick a 58 yard field goal.

Jahan Dotson was called for offensive pass interference on a rub play to free up Curtis Samuel when he contacted the defensive players. It was marginal call, but Dotson needs to learn to avoid the contact but impede the defender trying to cover the receiver. Washington had to punt the ball away.

Brandon Graham made a terrible mental mistake by hitting Heinicke after he had gone to his knee giving up a sack. It was a particularly hard hit, but it was obviously very late and drew a flag. That effectively cost the Eagles the game. Philadelphia fans cried foul, but it was the correct call.
