The Season in a Snap – Week 16

By Noonefromtampa

Happy New Year! The Washington Football Team is still in first place going into the final regular season game. They control their own destiny: a win equals playoffs, a loss equals season over. This past week the team lost to the Panthers in game in which the coaching staff waited way too long to switch quarterbacks. It also lost its 2019 first round draft pick, Dwayne Haskins, when he was released by the team after a series of gaffes and poor performances.

The game this week Washington is a 2 point favorite with the over/under at 43.5 points on the road against the Philadelphia Eagles. I originally projected the Eagles winning this week over the Washington Football Team.  But the Eagles have a lot of injuries and many starters will not be playing in this game. The game was flexed to 8:20 PM instead of the earlier 1:00 PM start time.

Last week, the Giants lost to the Ravens and the Eagles lost to the Cowboys. The NFC East standings are therefore WFT in first place, followed by the Cowboys, the Giants, and the Eagles in last place. This week, the Cowboys play at the Giants at 1:00pm.

If Washington loses the game against the Eagles, then the winner of the Cowboys/Giants game will claim the NFC East division title.
