Futurecasting the 2021 Sports Business Hellscape

Now that most of the major sports leagues have had some kind of 2020 season, Steve and Chris start to look at what might be on the horizon for the lingering dread of the Covid reality. Will the NHL go dark for a season? Will we see max capacity in stadiums? Will the bubble return? Hopping from there the next topic is how TV networks are learning that remote productions are easier and cheaper. How does this change the landscape for media against a backdrop of more ESPN layoffs and continuing negotiations on broadcast rights. Finally they slice into the woods and look at how Golf equipment sales are booming, including a company owned by Bill Murray (yes that Bill Murray!).
