  • Fanta or Orange Sunkist?

  • I’m seriously starting to plan a trip to Germany now, all based on the beer discussion.

  • Beer discussion…

Always liked Belhaven… Tennants was a great lighter beer (not light at all)

  • noonefromtampa

The father of the man cops believe gunned down four people at a Waffle House restaurant in Tennessee may also face charges for returning guns that were seized from his son last year after an incident at the White House, according to a federal official.

In a news conference Monday about the capture of Travis Reinking, 29, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives Special Agent Marcus Watson said Jeffrey Reinking may have broken the law when he returned the weapons to his son.

“It is possible. If you transfer weapons knowingly to a person that is prohibited, that could potentially be a violation of federal law,” Watson said.

    • People are getting fired.

    • Squinnsamania, brother!

Father is just as guilty as the son.

      • broke a different law, didn’t kill anyone.

        • Maybe not “just as guilty” but very very guilty and deserving of a high degree of accountability.

        • Squinnsamania, brother!

Guns were taken away from son for a reason. Father committed when he accepted the guns that he would not return them to his son. Son then kills multiple people.

Technicially, you are correct, but IMO, just as guilty. The guns were taken away from the son for a reason, the reason was that for whatever reason he was deemed unfit to have them.

    • Back to the good ol daysBruce

As I stated this morning how the F do you return fire arms to the suspect’s parents? How in any way is that legal or even required?

And without knowing full story why didn’t they shoot the dude onsight seeing he was naked and trying to flee scene after open firing?

  • You’ve got one ride there and back in a time machine that can only travel to two points in time.

Do you use to go see the inception of life on Earth? Or, do you travel back to the moment man discovered beer?

    • The environment when life first became, would likely kill you.

    • Simple… I travel forward to the day I retire and don’t come back

    • If it’s just those two choices, and we are armed and protected, I’m going first beer party all the way.

The first life on earth would be incredibly boring single-cell organisms. But nice scenery, I’m sure.

      • you wouldn’t travel to garden of Eden?

        – wif

      • you wouldn’t travel to Garden of Eden?

        – wif

      • Being armed isn’t gonna help much at the origins of life. the world was mostly volcanoes and acidic seas, the air was probably toxic, you would die in minutes.

        • I’m not worried about being armed at the origin of life.

I’m worried about all the humans who are not adapted to drinking alcohol. That generally leads to bad things.

          • On the positive side they may think you’re a god.

          • When I’m walking around barely buzzed off three gallons of their weak, yeasty-tasting, flat brew, and they are all smashed, they just might. 🙂

          • The taste would likely be honey based. At least that’s my understanding of early brewing

      • Thank you janky for answering the question.

Buncha damn ningnongs up in here and their compulsions to take the fun out of killing time.

        • I answered your flawed question, first.

          • The hell you did.

Before there was life, the planet was hostile to humans dur dur dur, is not an answer!

          • This was my response,
Zig-Zag_BC kon, for now • 9 minutes ago
The environment when life first became, would likely kill you.

Hardly the weak-assed spin you’re putting forth.

          • Me: Hey, who wants to get on a rocket and head to space?

You: The environment in space is a vacuum and would kill you.

          • I will go, but only if you can send me cheesy movies.

          • If ya’ll wanna go, Walter knows a guy with a steam powered rocket…..

          • Meh, hit your vape pen. By cancelling the first option, the creation of beer is the only viable alternative, it’s pretty fucking clear.

    • Well the discovery of beer was a multi-1000 year process. And the origin of life on Earth, you’re gonna go sit by a volcano and look at a puddle.

    • walter_in_fallschurch

why would a beer fan want to go back to when they just started making beer? i mean, don’t you imagine it’s improved over the years? as for going to see the “inception of life on earth”, that would be extremely boring (not to mention toxic).

when people talked about “the good old days”, my father would reply along the lines of “oh, the good old days of polio, the plague, tuberculosis, chamber pots, 40-year life-spans, etc….”

these are the good old days right now.

      • For the historic occasion. To raise a cup and drink with the dudes who discovered it.

        • walter_in_fallschurch

          dilly dilly?

i could see going back a few years and investing in apple. cliche, i know, but cliches are cliche for a reason.

  • From the article Noone posted below:

‘Hildegard had pronounced that hops were not very good for you, because they ‘make the soul of a man sad and weigh down his inner organs.’

The funny thing is that while this sounds like medieval superstition, it is actually true that hops are terrible for testosterone production. And as the marketing campaigns let us know relentlessly, low testosterone can make you feel depressed and sluggish.

  • The Romans brewed their beer with the yeast of a sourdough barley bread. Kept alive by an 18 hour baking process.

They got the recipe from the Egyptians.

I know we have had this discussion before but German beer made with hops only goes back to Martin Luther around 1520-1540 when the Catholic Church refused to sell spices traditionally used in beer to the Germans after Reformation Revolt.

So the Germans began using hops instead.

Is Baker Mayfield in play for Browns at No. 1?

  • Bad Reputation

Teams like Arizona, Baltimore, LAC, Nawlins, NE,…these are the guys that might trade up for a QB. Then you got the Giants, Cleveland, Jets, Denver who are already in position to grab a QB. Throw in Buffalo who is rumored to trade up again into a better position…and you got more teams that need a QB then there are 1st round talents at QB. There will be fireworks. Even if a guy isn’t selected where you think he should go…teams will still trade up to get them. That’s why I don’t think 13 will be a QB pick. Someone might wanna move up to get a Derwin James, Fitzpatrick, Ward etc. Even Vita Vea…someone like Detroit might want. So 13 might be good for a position player someone is in love with.

  • Ok, I’m curious what you guys would do with this scenario:

Skins trade back to 23 w/ Pats. All the usual suspects (guys generally mocked in the Top 20) are gone, also gone are Payne, Guice, Hernandez, Vea, and Wynn.

    Who do you take?

  • One of my favorite biers,

Weihenstephan Hefe Weissbier, 5.4%: £1.99 for 500ml, Waitrose

Top notch Hefeweizens from Erdinger and Franziskaner have been readily available in British supermarkets for years, and we’ve started noticing increased shelf space for Weihenstephan’s version too. And that’s good news because it’s outstanding, as you would hope from ‘The World’s Oldest Brewery’. It’s clean and crisp with delicate banana and clove notes, derived from the special yeast, and a light spice that enhances its refreshing qualities. A classic beer for any occasion.

    • Way to go out on a limb and pick one of the oldest breweries in the world Weihenstephan’s only been brewing for a millennia.

      • noonefromtampa

Well I guess they finally got it right then, persistence pays off

      • Yes, I know. Germany still has the best bier in the World imho.

        • There are some places that are older I’ve been told. But all of them are the brewery’s run by monks, where you can only access it if you go to the monastery, some times not even then. Met a real beer man years back who did that, trekked around Germany to a few of those places, but even then, I am guessing they are only going back another 200 years.

No one’s going to say Germans make bad beer. BUT, they are way to restrictive about what you can and cannot put into beer, and that’s where the USA has an edge, American brewers aren’t prohibited from adding new ingredients like Germans are, so we get crazy new things from places like Dogfish head that wouldn’t be legal in Germany.

          • I prefer German bier. I like tradition though, so there’s that.

          • Nothing wrong with that. Probably my favorite beer all time is Spaten Optimator. But I’m also a person who love seeing people experiment, try new flavors, new ideas, because there is nothing more quintessentially human to me than that.

          • Link towards the top is a story about German brewers fighting the bier purity law.

      • If I had to choose my favorite beer, then it’s the beer the Monks make here, in Germany. Fantastic bier and scenery. Been there numerous times and crave it all the time. Fantastic

  • Beer update, over the weekend my mom was at a farmers market and picked up a 4 pack from Waredaca Brewing Company out of Gaithersburg. Beer’s good, nothing amazing, but your basic solid micro-brews, and they aren’t over doing IPA’s, a flaw of many brewers, you need balance. The selling point is volume.

They come in 32 oz. cans.

Flounder your mock below is good. In fact that trade is very realistic. LAC need a QB to groom so they might move up and that compensation package is accurate.

  • So who takes Allen if the Browns pass on him?

Maybe it’s just the Cleveland factor, but I feel like only the Browns are dumb enough to take such a questionable prospect in the Top 5.

  • Squinnsamania, brother!

Jets leaking news that they are really interested in Baker Mayfield. This is a play. Convince the Browns that they will take Mayfield at three, leaving at least two of Allen, Darnold or Rosen at fourth pick. Convince Browns to take Barkley at 1, then only one QB off the board when the Jets pick.

  • Oh the French President is in town. Maybe he can help us get tough on our border immigration policy! lmao

  • Here you go you can trade back and still get Vea or Payne and get your 3rd back.

our score is: 21950 (GRADE: A-)

    Your Picks:
Round 1 Pick 17 (LAC): Vea, Vita, DT, Washington (A)
Round 2 Pick 12: Penny, Rashaad, RB, San Diego State (B+)
Round 3 Pick 20 (LAC): Jackson, Donte, CB, LSU (A+)
Round 4 Pick 9: Cain, Deon, WR, Clemson (A+)
Round 5 Pick 5: Phillips, Skyler, OG, Idaho State (A+)
Round 5 Pick 26: Brown, Andrew, DT, Virginia (A+)
    Round 6 Pick 14: Scott, JK, P, Alabama (A+)
Round 7 Pick 13: Flowers, Tre, SS, Oklahoma State (A+)
Round 7 Pick 23: FranklinMyer, John, DE, Stephen F. Austin (A+)

  • Giants are totally going to dictate how we draft
If they get Barkley I think we stay at 13 and go DL

    • Squinnsamania, brother!

And if they take a QB, we should still stay at 13 and go DL.

    • I still think that the Browns should take Barkley at #1 and go QB at #4.

      • Squinnsamania, brother!

Only a good idea if they are good with the top three QB’s and don’t really favor one too much over the others.

    • I just hope they don’t trade down and wind up with 6+ picks in the first two rounds.

    • Our divisional opponents necessitate our drafting a defensive lineman,(or two). Period.

      • Squinnsamania, brother!

        Yep.

      • Squinnsamania, brother!

If Vea’s gone at 13, trade back 4 or 5 spots, pick up 17 or so second and third round picks (at least according to those mock draft simulators), and draft Payne.

        • gotta have a partner to trade with, but the Cowboys and Eagles have tremendous rushing attacks already so the Giants may or may not but that doesn’t stop our needing to be able to stop the rush.

    • Giants are going QB or they would have traded back.

      • Squinnsamania, brother!

        They’re taking a Chubb, dumbass.

        • If they weren’t taking QB they would have traded back with the Jets instead they let the Colts do that.

          • Squinnsamania, brother!

Listen here, buddy, you step away from a week or so posting here and then come up here and tell what the fucking Gnats are going to do. You’re freakin’ wrong, brother.

          • Will see if they wanted Barkley or Chubb they could have traded back with the Jets and got either one.

  • Squinnsamania, brother!

Talk of Chinese food: If you’re ever in DC Chinatown, go to Ming’s. Probably best Chinese in DC. Fried Pork Chops, Crispy Beef and Blue Cheese Walnut Shrimp are amazing. When I lived in the DC area, I kinda hung out in the “foodie scene” with a lot of the DC’s top chefs (one of them is one of my best friends). Ming’s is not fancy, pretentious or anything like that, but they all agree that it was the best straight-up Chinese food in DC.

    • I used to love the Chinese Food food from City Lights in the Dupont Circle area. Man that stuff was fresh.

    • My wife and I used to always go to New Big Wong, back when she worked in China Town especially.

      • These days though if I want good dim sum, I roll out to seven corners where I grew up and go to Marks Duck House.

        • Squinnsamania, brother!

^Yep, there’s not really any good dim sum in DC. Shame. Seven corners and Mark’s Duck House is where its at.

          • There used to be a few good places in Arlington, but they all got taken out decades back. That is the last really solid one.
It really is a shame there’s nothing in the city, and that Ping Pong place doesn’t count for me.

          • Struggling is when you resort to this sort of petty insult. That’s struggling.

These are issues that will be decided by our society. Discussing the issue shouldn’t get you so exercised.

          • You actually told Steve he doesn’t need his gun based on where he lives and the fact he has never shot at anybody . You said that .

          • Yeah, so what? My opinion. Not just based on where he lives but based on a lot of data showing that people are generally at greater risk from having guns in the home than they are from intruders.

          • You understand that the Steve’s of the country are not immune to crime and they may actually go outside their comfortable neighborhood at some point .

          • I DO understand that!

          • Drive your new 4 door Jeep to Belle Glade, hang out at the corner market and tell them peeps what they need to do…..

          • Probably have some strong opinions about gun rights there.

          • Probably jack your Jeep and they’d find it at the docks with a Dominican Republic sticker on it. Take your cash and jewelry, rough you up some. Live a little.

          • My point, D_C, is that I feel you should emerse yourself in the culture of poverty in this country, to better understand it, and to better understand the thought processes of the people who live it everyday, then make your recommendations for world peace.

          • Just what we need… more self important bloviating spew from the blogs resident wind bag

          • …well, and that pesky Constitution thing. Shall not be infringed and all…

          • Funny how we had that same Constitution for 200 years before someone decided in included an individual right to bear arms.

          • …or until some liberal activist group of asshat judges decided they needed to interpret for all of us peons.

          • Or some hyper conservative justices decided to bend the text like a Gumby doll to reach their desired conclusion.

          • …or that… but not in the case of guns

          • That’s how you think . That’s how all liberals think . They inherently think they know what’s best for somebody else . Its a disorder . I guess you can’t help it

          • “That’s how all liberals think.”

Dude, you should really stop stereotyping everyone. You sure as hell don’t like it when you think someone’s doing it to you.

          • Then its a helluva coincidence You’re like an echo chamber for MSNBC

        • Save you the trouble:

“No one who isn’t involved in the military, law enforcement, or security really NEEDS a gun. But that’s just the start of the conversation. Just because you don’t NEED something doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be able to have it.

          • and again you don’t determine who needs a gun vs who wants one . Same thing all over again. Those are the rights of law abiding citizens to determine what they need .

          • And again, I know I don’t determine it. Neither do you, Bub. Just discussing what our gun policy *should* be, as opposed to what it obviously is now.

          • No but you would like to determine it . You wish you could , that’s another point . You want the government to do it on your behalf .

          • No, not really. It needs a lot of study. OTOH, you seem to feel pretty confident that you’ve got it all figured out.

          • The 2nd amendment needs a lot of study to determine what law abiding citizens can have a gun ? I rest my case . Gun owners fully understand the mindset . That’s why they fight like hell to keep them.

          • Sure, for starters. The 2nd is anything but clear and the recent interpretation is a big departure from how it was interpreted for the first couple centuries of this country.

But even under current law, the 2nd amendment allows for substantial gun regulation — way beyond what we have now. We should talk about what, if anything, we should do to make people safer while minimizing intrusion into people’s lives.

  • Fucking fanboy is destroying CCR, please just stop

  • I got to get better at slicing a pineapple. That or, not keep stopping to hit a swig of beer while I’m doing it.

  • So, the draft NFLN/FOX will appear on both Fox and NFLN… AND ESPN is still covering it with their own feed?

  • So I googled nutzville……… it’s right next to Chobee and Belle Glade.

  • Somehow or another , because D_C is a dumbass regarding law abiding gun owners , I am prejudiced against Muslims . Even though I haven’t said a word about it . That’s some of his supreme logic .

  • I could give two shits generally about so called assault weapons , but after reading the lunatic fringe , it makes me want to go out and buy one .

  • George Bush hospitalized for an infection. He’s responding well to treatment.

  • Well gee whiz , I have a concealed weapons permit and I live in a nice neighborhood and have never shot anybody so I think I will just get rid of it . I will never need it , if I stay in the confines of my surroundings .
Said nobody , with a functioning brain

    • Functioning brain….

For every time a gun is used in self-defense in the home, there are 7 assaults or murders, 11 suicide attempts, and 4 accidents involving guns in or around a home.

43 percent of homes with guns and kids have at least one unlocked firearm.

In one experiment, one third of 8-to-12-year-old boys who found a handgun pulled the trigger.

      • He is a responsible gun owner and well within his rights . You are suggesting what he doesn’t need based on statistics . It’s not his fault that some people are not .

        • Again, Steve is an analogy. We’re talking about gun laws, which for obvious reasons have to apply universally … or else include specific carve outs. I guess we’ll call this the Steve Exception.

          • I know he is a fucking analogy you twit , he is also an example of an overwhelming majority of law abiding gun owners . Jesus Christ man , you are lost in nutsville

          • Yeah, I know. I mean, the overwhelming majority of Muslims are peace loving folks, so let’s just do away with the vetting altogether, right?

          • I see. When there’s no logical response and your lunacy has been exposed and beat down , change it up.

          • It’s the same argument, Buck, but you can see how dumb you’re being in the Muslim context. Unfortunately the laws have to be devised to catch the bad apples.

          • I haven’t said anything about muslims so therefore it is nowhere near being the same . You don’t have any idea what I think on that subject

          • Same argument: the “overwhelming majority” of gun owners are responsible, so we shouldn’t do anything to inconvenience them. The “overwhelming majority” of Muslims aren’t terrorists, so we shouldn’t do anything to inconvenience them.

          • Inconveniencing them and you and your fellow libs determining who needs what are two very different things seeing as you have exposed your real views . Like I said its your kind who make legal owners unwilling to bend . They know who you really are .

          • Me and my fellow libs … my kind … my REAL VIEWS … who I REALLY AM.

            Wow, you are a nutter.

          • I’m going off your own words . You made the determination the Steve’s of the country don’t need any guns because they haven’t had to shoot at anybody . That’s your logic . You said it .

          • Yeah, that’s right. No one who isn’t involved in the military, law enforcement, or security really NEEDS a gun. But that’s just the start of the conversation. Just because you don’t NEED something doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be able to have it.

          • I bet people living in the back woods in Alaska would disagree with your assessment… but so would any rational person so…

          • ranchers , farmers , anybody who works in a hostile environment from people or animals . He doesn’t care . It doesn’t relate to him , therefore those people are wrong and it doesn’t matter

          • Whatever, you get the point. People who legitimately need to use a firearm in their day-to-day lives.

          • You’re a walking contradiction

          • So you would be wrong when I said I know who you are ? I was correct , because you just confirmed it . I mean you just said I was a nutter and then confirmed what I said about you is right . Contradicting yourself again. And you are a lawyer ?

          • Yes, I’d say you’re wrong if what you’re trying to say is that I’m someone who thinks guns should be banned, period.

          • Your kind is so transparent . Its all about ” assault weapons ” until it’s not . Then you think you have the right to determine who can protect themselves with a firearm and who can’t, which we all know in your world view is nobody except law enforcement .

  • D_C in another un football related argument… being a general displeasure to the board to at least 2 people that aren’t me

Tell me… who again is the common denominator?

    Yeah, it’s you D_C

    You should just stop posting

    • And who started the conversation with his stupid guns/cars analogy? I believe that would be one of the proprietors.

      • Always fighting with someone… you are a general pain in the blog dude.

…and the blog laughing stock… people use your name as the butt of jokes constantly here.

Maybe you should take the hint. But then again that would mean you actually need to understand the things going on around you… and we all know that ain’t happening.

      • You utterly, totally, and completely missed the point of my cars/guns analogy.

It’s his right . You have know way of knowing if Steve will ever be forced to protect himself and fire his gun . The very idea that you think you actually do know any fucking thing about him or his gun ownership is ludicrous and devoid of any sensible logic . you are such a dumbed down moron its staggering sometimes
    —————-
Would be nice if you and your little buddy could have a conversation without resorting to this sort of ugliness, but that appears to be a lost cause.

So the context of the conversation you so cleverly jumped into was Steve comparing cars to guns, saying essentially that since both CAN kill people, the argument for banning cars is just as good as it is for banning guns. I pointed out that cars necessary for modern life and are not engineered to kill people … unlike guns.

Despite that fact, we obviously have more restrictions on cars than we do on guns, insofar as drivers are required have a license to operate a car, which entails passing a written test and a driving test.

What I know about Steve is just what he’s told all of us. He’s a lawyer living the Houston area, he owns multiple guns, and has apparently never used one of them to shoot at an animal or a human intruder. Or at least he’s never hit one. So he probably lives in a relatively safe neighborhood, but I’ll concede that he may feel the need to own A gun (singular) for home protection. That would be a “need” situation, as opposed to a “want” situation (I like to target shoot or hunt). Regardless, Steve is just standing in for any gun owner in this argument.

It’s worth noting that there’s no constitutional protection for hobbies like target shooting and hunting, any more than there is for golfing and fishing. According to the SC the 2nd amendment only protects the right to own guns for self defense, which is why states have been allowed to restrict certain types of firearms. So long as the restrictions don’t go so far as to effectively take away one’s right to defend him or herself with a firearm, they pass constitutional muster.

Which is a long-winded way of saying that the only RIGHT you have as a gun owner is the right to own a gun for the purpose of shooting someone or ones in defense of you, your family, or in some locales, your property.

    • What?

    • You and your sensational logic , said Steve didn’t a gun . That’s what you said . You are making all kind of assumptions that you want to be true to fit your narrative . You don’t get to decide who needs what and why . Although you wish like hell you did and that’s a truth about liberals that gun owners are well aware of .

      • Yeah, the truth is that he doesn’t NEED a gun. He doesn’t live in the ghetto. Does he NEED a gun for self protection? Statistically he or a family member is far more likely to shoot himself, or another family member, or a friend, than they are to shoot an intruder.

Obviously I’m not determining anything, as that’s what governments do. And this is sorta how they go about it. Determine what your absolute rights are and how far do they go. Outside of those absolute rights, what are private WANTS and how do they balance against the public interests.

        • Don’t tell me what the hell I need and don’t need.

          • I agree with you for the first time today . You may not like that .

          • Buck: a tidbit – I don’t actually hate or even dislike these people. No, I don’t care for the Texas thing, but I’m fine with almost everyone. This is just me being a contrarian. The truth is that I don’t paricularly care for Texas, but it’s okay. I’ve lived in way too many places to feel too strongly one way or the other about anywhere in particular.

          • I understand .

          • You don’t need a gun. You do need a chill pill. Buck needs a barrel of them.

          • Unless you can predict the future , you can’t factually say that . Amazing you think you are that intelligent .

          • I don’t have to predict the future. Doesn’t work like that. It’s a matter of probability and statistics. I mean, Jesus, individually at some point someone may NEED a bomb. I might need a shaped charge to escape a burning building! But given the remote odds of that happening, society tells us that it’s better to restrict people from owning bombs.

          • It’s a simple matter of the need for Steve to defend himself with a firearm , should that need ever arise . That’s it . You are wrong and that’s not unusual . People with bad intentions don’t care about statistics . Its just a weak attempt by you to legitimize your nonsense .

          • We don’t make laws based upon what STEVE may or not need or do. THAT is pure stupidity.

          • He is within the law . that’s the point . He is obeying the law and you are telling him what he doesn’t need . Contradicting yourself like crazy

          • We’re talking about what the laws should be — not what they are. Steve proposed banning cars, for example.

          • Mind your own damn business. You have no right to tell me what I need, and you have no clue about firearms at all. Nothing. You don’t know the first thing about the issues and don’t want to, and you don’t the fainted idea about gun safety except whatever you’ve read on the internet. Some people understand the issues but disagree with me, which is fine; you’re clueless.

          • Dude, it ain’t rocket fuckin’ science.

          • It’s way beyond your level of comprehension, and no, you don’t understand Supreme Court case law. Don’t even try to explain what you think you know about Supreme Court opinions.

          • Thanks Steve, I guess those years I spent as an appellate attorney went to waste. lol

          • Everyone would completely agree with that statement. Everything you’ve ever done is a waste

          • Evening, Sunshine!

          • Fighting with everyone again I see.

            You’re nothing if not consistent.

      • and you said he didn’t need one because he has never shot at anything , which is insane , moronic , stupid , ignorant , and completely not based in common sense .

    • My car diatribe was an absurd analogy intended to show just how silly some parts of the gun control argument are. Of course I don’t think cars should be banned.

And no, I don’t hunt, I don’t care for it, so I’ve never shot at an animal.

I listened to most of it. Pretty interesting.

Steve said something that makes me scratch my head, though. He’s skeptical of Sony Michel because his yards/carry average improved so much his senior year versus prior years (7.9 vs around 5.5). That’s one reason he prefers Guice. But Guice’s yards/carry average actually got worse each year he was at LSU, going from 7.6 in ’16 to 5.3 in ’17.

To me, you want to see a college player improving year over year, as opposed to regressing.
    ______________

I hear you. It’s a knock against Guice, for sure. I actually meant to ask him about Guice’s YPC this year, but it slipped my mind (sorry; live show). The substance of my question was whether Michel is a one-hit wonder, basically, whereas I don’t view Guice like that. To me, Guice has a track record of performance, although the fact that he regressed definitely is a reason to not have him ranked higher.

      ban people

    • How about this contorted logic; sounds familiar…

      1) Motorized vehicles are used by the military.
      2) Motorized vehicles are weapons of mass destruction because they can kill alot of people.
      3) The law allows civilians to own cars.
      4) There is no difference between an army tank and a Kia.
      5) There is no reason to give civilians the right to own weapons of mass destruction.

      Therefore:

Bars must be banned from civilian use.

      • Mind blown-austin

        • Why would anyone need a van? A battery powered smart car is what the founding fathers intended.

      • The difference being that motorized vehicles are necessary for everyday activities, and they aren’t actually designed for killing.

        • Clearly the person who did this thought otherwise

          • I suspect that, even though he’s clearly off his rocker to some extent, he was aware of the fact that cars/vans weren’t created to living beings.

          • All a car is is a tool that can kill people.

A tank is a box that is propelled via an engine just like a Honda. Exact same thing.

Lots of things CAN kill people, but cars, like most things, were not designed to accomplish that purpose, and they exist because their primary functions are indispensable.

    ——————-
I listened to most of it.

  • A basic no frills hose pot is $20 at the big box hardware stores. And, they need a $10 can of spray paint to make it look like something and a $10 can of UV sealer to protect the color.

Or, go a few aisles down and, find a planter that holds all of your hose, already has UV protection and oh look…it’s already got a nice finish to it. All that for $10.

All it needs is a drain hole drilled for your hose to pass through. Or just skip that and simply disconnect your hose like you should anyway and just roll it up and drop it in the planter. But even if you did buy a 3” hole saw to do it…it’s equal to buying a hose pot.

The other thing which makes me laugh about Kaeperprick is that he didn’t get “fired” or “cut” by anyone.

he opted out of his own contract because he was so sure other teams would bid for his services. Else the Niners would have had to pay him if they wanted him gone.

    BAAAAHHHH-HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

    • That guy has no self awareness – rg

    • walter_in_fallschurch

don’t know about the contract details.

but can you honestly, let’s be honest here, say that kap is worse than all the crappy back-ups and starters in the league? he is so much better than lots of non-protest-instigating guys out there. you can certainly make the “not worth the trouble” argument, but not the “not good enough” argument.

      • No Punt Intended

The contract gave Kaepernick a $12.3 million signing bonus and a 2014 salary of just $645,000. Those were the only truly guaranteed portions of the contract, despite reports that Kaepernick’s deal included a record $61 million in “guaranteed” money. It turned out the $61 million was only guaranteed if he were to suffer a career-ending injury.

Each year of the contract after the first, the 49ers were free to cut Kaepernick and not owe him any more money.

To make matters worse, Kaepernick was supposed to get his first large salary ($12.4 million) during the 2015 season. However, because of the way the contract was worded, that salary actually went down to $10.4 million. Kaepernick’s salary went down $2 million each year if he was not named first- or second-team All-Pro, or if the 49ers didn’t play in the Super Bowl the previous season with 80% of the snaps taken by Kaepernick. None of those things happened.

Kaepernick eventually restructured his contract during the 2016 season, turning the 2017 season into a player option. Knowing that the 49ers were going to release him later in the summer, Kaepernick opted out of his contract in early March hoping to take advantage of becoming a free agent earlier and having more time to secure a new contract.

In the end, Kaepernick’s seven-year, $126 million contract turned out to be a three-year deal worth a tad more than $39 million. That is less than the three-year, $45 million contract Mike Glennon signed with the Chicago Bears this past offseason.

Meanwhile, six months later, the 2017 season is underway and Kaepernick is still without a job and he is without a big chunk of the $61 million “guarantee.”

  • I’m with Walter, leave ‘um in the locker room.

  • Squinnsamania, brother!

      • And his employer will face whatever consequences they’ve faced. 2 years of shitstorm bullshit controversy.

        • …created by Collin Kaepernick himself because Kaepernick tried to turn an entertainment platform into a social justice platform.

What the NFL should have done a long time ago is shut down all protests for anything during games. Problem solved. The NFL freaks out when a player has one too many Nike logos or wears the wrong headband, but somehow his stuff is okay.

          • created by Collin Kaepernick sure. Continued to this day by the NFL with their reaction, their inability to get a handle on the situation.

Not saying that I know how I’d solve the problem on their end, I don’t think there is a good solution and this point it’s a no win situation, either you piss off 1/2 the country or you piss off the other 1/2 the country. Either way, more harm to the brand.

          • Squinnsamania, brother!

“His stuff” purportedly goes much further and deeper than logos and headbands. Simply suppressing his activities could also result in an adverse reaction among the players, which in itself could cause significant problems for the NFL.

I have no objection to his trying to turn an entertainment platform into a social justice platform – certainly social justivce is much more important than my entertainment.

However, he has to live with the consequences of those actions, which include knowing that he may not be allowed to play football again. He was fugging with the NFL’s money and audience and should have known that such actions could have dire circumstances.

He’s protesting now under false pretenses.

The day he was spotted for the very first time “protesting”, he was sitting, slouched, on the bench without any particular emotion.

That also happened to be a short time after he was benched before the start of the 2016 pre-season. No one paid much attention until the 3rd pre-season game and Kaep had not mentioned his “protest” to anyone.

He was pouting. He was pouting like a bitch because he lost his job. Then when someone called him on sitting (he was NOT kneeling yet) he said he was protesting the oppression of black people.

Anyone who doesn’t get this is just dumb.

      • All of that is true, but he’s continued to pimp the narrative in order to feed his own ego.

        • No Punt Intended

And conceal his cowardice by hiding behind the shield of protection ‘rights to protest’ affords him versus having to publicly acknowledge that he is a complete douche nozzle and a whiny, pouting bitch.

          • Stop busting his BS narrative.

          • Well some here are arguing the the Vegas shooter could have done just as much damage with a Glock. Which is patently, profoundly stupid, IMO.

          • noonefromtampa

well yes that is actually true if you consider a carbine conversion kit for the Glock which turns the pistol into a short barrel semi-auto assault rifle (the mfg term not mine), add an extended mag and bump stock …

          • No, I’m talking about an unmodified handgun. Some here are arguing that they would be just as effective and lethal.

Do you need a rifle to hit long-distance targets? Duh. Of course.

And the Vegas shooter was using bump stocks, which I’ve been in favor of banning.

          • At that elevation, the pistol would have the range, just not the velocity.

          • Why ban bump stocks? They don’t kill people…blah, blah, blah.

Turn in your NRA man card.

          • Once again, you don’t get it.

    • They should.

      • So it’s unanimous. Guns originally designed for combat should never be in civilian hands. Glad we’ve finally put this issue to rest.

        • Guns designed for combat are already essentially banned from civilian hands.

          • AR-15s were originally designed for combat. Either turn them in or bring them with you when you decide to enlist.

          • No, an M-16 was originally designed for combat. That is a fully automatic weapon. An AR-15 is just a common reference to a semi-automatic .223 caliber rifle based on the M-16 design.

          • In 1956, ArmaLite designed a lightweight assault rifle for military use and designated it the ArmaLite Rifle-15, or AR-15.[7][8][9] Due to financial problems, and limitations in terms of manpower and production capacity, ArmaLite sold the design and the AR-15 trademark to Colt’s Manufacturing Company in 1959.[10] In 1964, Colt began selling its own version with an improved semi-automatic design known as the Colt AR-15.[11] After Colt’s patents expired in 1977, an active marketplace emerged for other manufacturers to produce and sell their own AR-15 style rifles.[1]

          • Dude, look, you aren’t getting it. The M-16 is a military weapon because it is fully automatic and is therefore owned and used by DoD. The AR-15 isn’t. The military doesn’t own and use semi-automatic .223 rifles as common service weapons.

By your logic, an M1 should be banned, apparently.

          • Hey, if it can kill scores of people fast, it’s not a hunting weapon it’s a weapon of mass destruction. Seems to be the weapon of choice for mass shooters.

So, I couldn’t care less if you feel your stupid rights to carry WMDs gets trampled on. I simply don’t care. Personally gun-ownership should be downgraded from a right to a privilege.

But if Congress lacks the balls to ban them, may I suggest every semi-automatic gun owner to buy liability insurance to pay the medical expenses and funeral costs for victims at the hands of the guns they covet.

          • So now you’re calling an AR-15-style weapon a Weapon of Mass Destructon? You’ve really lost it. You realize WMDs are nukes and chemical warfare weapons, right? You clearly don’t support the freedom that this country was founded on, and I suggest that you move to another country more to your liking.

Newsflash: all guns kill people dead, and all guns can kill alot of people.

          • Then why is the AR-15, Bushmaster and similar semi-automatic knockoffs the weapon of choice for mass shooters?

          • Because there are alot of them available. You’re grouping tons of weapons under one label.

          • How about liability insurance?

          • What about it?

          • Should be mandatory, don’t you think? A large insurance pool, paid by gun owners that can compensate innocent victims for medical expenses, funerals and other expenses.

There’s no way in hell that the victims should have to bear the brunt of those expenses.

          • Heck no. I’m not down with punishing the innocent 99.99% because of the bad acts of the .01%.

          • I’m all for it.

          • So if your son was critically injured by a mass shooter, requiring multiple surgeries and hundreds of thousands of dollars in medical expenses, you should just accept that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time, and bear the cost? Let’s just assume the shooter is just like the loner at Parkland.

          • noonefromtampa

M-16 = fully automatic which requires a special federal permit to own

of course, logically, the father bears some responsibility. apparently there is a “states rights” issue, where just because he had his guns taken away while a resident of illinois, that does (or might) not mean he can’t have guns in tennessee. idiotic, i know.

  • Here’s the thing about the Kaep situation:

Taking a knee for the national anthem is anathema to the NFL’s target audience. It’s like a director getting a Star Wars movie and saying, “Just you wait: It’s going to have tons of Ewoks, and Porgs, and a lead role for Jar Jar! You’ll love it!”

No matter what Kaep meant with his actions, the way he expressed it was bound to fail. In that way, he and the others who followed him were incredibly tone deaf.

If they really wanted to get middle Americans to care about Social Injustice, they could not have picked a much worse way to do it.

    • Very well said. Basically none of his supporters understand this.

    • Middle America, probably not the right name for them, will never really care.

      • That statement makes is seem like you, a progressive northeasterner, look down on “middle American” values because they aren’t like you.

Your average “middle American” person isn’t racist, cares about equality, and hopes for a better future, just like you do. But they also care about things like patriotism, family values, and honoring public servants, and Kaepernick has made it abundantly clear that most of those things aren’t on his agenda. And oh yeah, not celebrating Fidel Castro.

Your way isn’t the only way.

        • When what you you care about conflicts with something else you say you care about, it’s a rubber meats the road situation and you got to find a way to reconcile conflicts and appease all parties.

      • you might as well say White America

who don’t really care about violence against blacks because most of it is black on black violence but you don;t see BLM marching against that, so white America is mostly apathetic

        • Not white America, because there’s enough white’s who do care. Why I also say Middle America isn’t a good name for it, I know plenty of passionate civil rights activists who live in Middle America.

          • We all know what you really mean by the term.

          • Democrats don’t really care about the people only the votes they bring

they have enslaved blacks in this country and people are not objecting to it

          • I didn’t say Democrats, I said Civil Rights Leaders, I know plenty of whom are independents.

      • Exactly. They willfully misconstrue what he and other players are doing (NOT protesting the flag, anthem, or military) because they simply don’t want to talk about what the players ARE protesting (social injustice).

        • Liberals are fond of saying that offense is in the eye of the beholder and it doesn’t matter the intent of the speaker’s use of, say, a racial term. Apparently that same standard isn’t applied to a guy who openly insulted the national anthem, the flag, and all of those who’ve defended it. That’s how I perceive it. But the sanctimonious among us tell me that I’m supposed to understand his meaning and ignore my offense because he doesn’t mean anything by it. That’s friggin’ stupid.

Here’s a newsflash for you: I understand his point. He’s not totally right, in that he appears to condemn all police, whereas the truth is that the majority of the incidents of police violence are justified, but there’s no doubt that there are and have been problems with police violence and with racism in America.

But if you’re going to tell me that I can’t be offended by what he did, and that because I’m a conservative white guy, I lack the capacity to understand his point, that doesn’t say much for you and means you’re a closed-minded hypocrite.

          • walter_in_fallschurch

            steve,
this may bug you, but american soldiers, my father included, have fought for americans’ right to protest like kap did. irritates you, i know. now, i understand the difference between a private citizen being censured by the government vs being censured by his private employer. if the nfl want’s to overtly institute a policy whereby players are not allowed to kneel during the anthem, that is their right.

            why aren’t they doing that?

          • The NFL should. They aren’t because they are weak.

What I’m irritated about is that leftists tell me I have no right to not support his cause, and that I should applaud him for insulting the flag.

        • I know a lot of people who take offense at the kneeling, and some of them may “willfully misconstrue” the situation. But most of them just see it as plain and simple: You don’t kneel for the national anthem. Ever. That’s how they were raised and what they think.

And the fact that a millionaire ballgame player is doing the kneeling only makes it worse, because in their minds, without that flag and our freedoms, etc, you can’t be a millionaire at all, much less playing a kids game to do it.

          • walter_in_fallschurch

lots of folks willfully misconstrue it as a attack on the military. others misconstrue it as an attack on america. it was supposed to be an attack on racial injustice – which no serious thinker can deny exists.

all that said, just keep the players in the locker room for the anthem. done. **wipes hands** fake problem solved.

          • The Hokie way……but you knew that right?

          • walter_in_fallschurch

it’s just logical. and it’s what the nfl did for years and years and years. i don’t remember when they started being on the field for the anthem, but, it is not integral to the game.

          • 9/11 I think

          • I believe so.

    • Since when did the military hijack the national anthem?

  • Penn State University’s 98-year-old Outing Club – whose mission is to “experience the outdoors in every possible capacity”
    – is no longer allowed to go outside because the college deems it too dangerous.

PSU’s offices of Student Affairs and Risk Management determined the Penn State Outing Club’s activities of backpacking, canoeing, kayaking, hiking, and trail maintenance as too risky, according to an announcement the student organization made earlier this month.

I guess taking showers with an assistant football coach is a much safer activity

    • PSU conducted a proactive risk assessment for 79 clubs, which found 20 clubs had some element of risk, including the Archery Club, Boxing Club, and Rifle Club, but only three were determined to be high-risk activities: Outing Club, Grotto Caving Club, and the Nittany Divers SCUBA Club.

  • “I hope the 32 NFL owners saw Colin Kaepernick get the Amnesty International Ambassador of Conscience Award in Amsterdam on Saturday night. An internationally noted citizen cannot find employment in the NFL. If that’s not a damning indictment of the NFL, I don’t know what is.” — Peter King

Man, Kaep may be the ultimate Social Justice Warrior now, for all I know, but that first time he was sitting out the anthem sure looked to me like a pouting little kid who just got benched.

    • Colin Kaepernick is scum and doesn’t deserve to play in the NFL. Cry me a river. And Peter King can go jump in the lake, too. I quit reading his MMQB because I got sick and tired of being bashed over the head with his liberal politics in what was supposed to be a football column.

      • LOL

Years from now the world will look back on this and the NFL will be ashamed of how it treated him.

        • The NFL hasn’t treated him any way. He brought all of this on himself, and his chances of proving his collusion case are very slim.

          • Whether it was collusion or everyone acting independently….

          • Here’s what people like you don’t get:

            1) Kaepernick is a backup-quality QB at this point. NFL quality, sure, but backup.
            2) 0 of 32 teams want to sign a backup QB who, if all goes well, won’t even play, who is going to bring a torrent of bad press and make half the fanbase mad. There’s no value in that.
            3) Teams want backup QBs to come in, be quiet, do their jobs, and not be a problem. That’s the opposite of Kaepernick.

          • Right on. Teams don’t want a side show attached to their marginally decent backup QB.

          • I think it won’t matter the truth of the whole situation. Whatever that may be.

What will matter is that this millennial generation will be the ones telling the story, and they will want it to look like all us crusty Gen Xers thought we were open-minded and not racist, but we didn’t even understand our own racism.

And they ended all of that! And one of the heroes of the story of the end of Gen X’s racism and oppression was Colin Kaep.

  • No Punt Intended

Also, I can’t believe I am saying this, I might like to see the team bring in Adrian Peterson, who is also still out there without a contract. He’s a different guy than CT and could be a compliment and I don’t think anyone would argue that he’s not better than any other RB on our roster. AP played pretty well in the second half of the season last year behind one of the crappiest o-lines in football. Could be a duo with CT as a Thunder and Lightning type of thing but ultimately, the Redskins need to draft someone who is significantly better then the scrubs we have now (aside from CT).

  • No Punt Intended

Question: Will the Redskins end up signing Breeland? He’s still out there and many teams are likely weary of his failed physical with Carolina. The Redskins’ medical staff is clearly very familiar with Breeland’s heel injury and are probably a lot less concerned about it. I think, personally, if ‘Bree is still out there after the draft, make him an offer. Maybe a 3-year deal that would afford the team a chance to move on after 2 years with minimal dead money if that’s what the team wants to do.

    Thoughts?

    (noone already said “no”.)

    • walter_in_fallschurch

i’d be happy with paying him a “reasonable” contract. of course “reasonable” is entirely nebulous. what we think is reasonable is likely different from what he does.

      • No Punt Intended

I would not want to see him paid like a top-10 CB and maybe lower than the top-15 and I’d not want to commit to him more than a 3 or 4 year deal whereby the team can “cut bait” after 2 and not get burned.

    • Squinnsamania, brother!

Skins never made him an offer this offseason. Breeland posted as such on Instagram this weekend. Didn’t even reach out to his camp.

      So, no, don’t think so.

    • Breeland is PO’ed cause the Redskins never even talked to him

    • I don’t think the Skins will do it. I think Gruden doesn’t like his temper tantrums.

That said, if it was up to me, I’d like to see him come back at a value contract. Even a one-year prove you’re healthy–mentally and physically–type deal.

    • Squinnsamania, brother!

I want to trade down three spots and get four additional second rounders and 7 additional third rounders. Cause that’s how they do it on those mock draft simulators.

  • So, whatever it’s just a mock, but CBS has us taking a corner and it’s Josh Jackson. No, thank you.

On top of that, they have Vea, James AND Fitzpatrick sliding right past us. And we pass on Ward, too.

That would definitely dampen my draftnight experience.

          • That’s cool that you have such a positive appraisal of them. I know some atheists who just sort of semi-hate Christians right off top and couldn’t stand to be at any church events without tearing into everyone.

Just curious: Are they the literal bible/fundamentalist types? Or more moderate faith and reason types?

I’m guessing the former, since you said diametrically opposed.

  • From CBS Sports mock draft with a trade back into 4th

    ROUND OVERALL PLAYER NOTES
1 13 Vita Vea, NT, Washington
2 44 Ronald Jones II, RB, USC
    4 109 Mason Cole, G/C, Michigan from DEN/SF
4 136 Desmond Harrison, OT, West Georgia from LAR/NE
5 142 Traded to L.A. Rams from DEN
5 163 Kameron Kelly, CB, San Diego State from DEN/ATL
    6 205 Quin Blanding, SS, Virginiafrom CLE/NE
    7 231 Traded to L.A. Rams
7 241 Cedrick Wilson, WR, Boise Statefrom LAR

    • I don’t like trading up for a 4th round tackle, but we probably need a developmental one soon.

I like the Ronald Jones II pick. I’d prefer Guice or Chubb as a lead back, but if you have two smaller scat backs of high quality, you can use them more on 1st and 2nd down, imo.

Also I think Quin Blanding has a shot to be pretty good down the road.

  • I’ve got a hunch the Redskins will trade back for a 3rd, at #13, unless someone like Nelson (or similar) drops to #13.

    • Squinnsamania, brother!

Who’s this willing partner. That’s what makes me laugh so much at all of the trade back talk. Often its desirable to trade back, but you’ve got to have a willing partner.

      • I’ve got it. That obviously depends on who is also available at #13. Maybe Baker Mayfield is there and a QB starved team is getting ready to pull the trigger.

  • Read the last Keim article, and I like the notion that we take defense or trade down in the first round.

With better defense and better health, they can compete with just about anybody.

  • walter_in_fallschurch

buckethead wants to draft the best available d-lineman, then the best available o-lineman.

  • walter_in_fallschurch

any of you guys ever heard of “buckethead”? i don’t imagine he watches much football….

he’s a crazy guy who literally wears an inverted kentucky fried chicken bucket on his head while he plays awesome guitar. he does not speak (except at the end of the first set, when he had a ventriloquist chicken puppet say, “buckethead will be back in 20 mins”). there are no words to any of his songs. he wears a white mask while on stage. the guy is completely nuts – and, so, so talented.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buckethead

wife and i went to a buckethead show this weekend at the state theater. OMG(i) – the guy was incredible. it’s one guy playing over recorded loops of simple background music. combination of shredder speed with robert fripp-type precision and the sound palette from jimi hendrix to stanley jordan. and, he’s funny, too. he’d do “the robot” while playing or slip in a bar or two of the “green acres” theme or “circus music”. so fun and funny. apparently he toured with guns and roses for a while, before he flaked out on them…

    never seen anything like it.

    • Buckethead was best known as the lead guitarist in the post-Slash Guns N Roses band for a few years. He’s a fabulous rock and roll guitarist, although based on GNR, I’m not sure he’s much of a songwriter.

      • walter_in_fallschurch

like i said, he toured with them for a while…. then… well…. apparently his bucketheadedness happened. clearly an “unusual” guy – a “buyer beware” kind of thing. was at a concert this weekend where i was 25 feet away from him. i could see all the finger movements and all. just fantastic.

        • Well, speaking as someone who has played electric guitar since he was 12, I can appreciate the hyper-technical shredders like Buckethead – and he’s not nearly the only one – but my tastes tend to drift to the guys with the best riffs more than anything.

          • walter_in_fallschurch

frankly, i’d prefer to hear jerry garcia noodle around a riff and a solo and go back and forth again for a few minutes, but that buckethead stuff was thrilling.

i feel like i’ve been living in a hole or something. never heard of buckethead until a month ago.

          • Well, Jerry Garcia isn’t nearly heavy enough for me, either.

          • walter_in_fallschurch

no. jerry’s is “close your eyes and let it wash over you” kind of music.

          • Squinnsamania, brother!

What did the Deadhead say when his pot buzz wore away?

            “Damn, this music sucks.”

            squinns,
            gee… never heard that one!

and, i will NOT stipulate that. i can hear a few notes, close my eyes and be transported to nirvana. granted, it’s probably a learned skill.

Its still funny because its true!

as for “songwriting”, i imagine he has limited appeal. probably 99.9% male guitar players who like his stuff.

Would it be bad to get Will Hernandez at 13? He would fill a need a long the line and probably be a pro bowler like Scherff. Immediate need filled. Low risk I think. Seen him as low as 16 on some mocks. What’s 3 places earlier?

I really don’t want them drafting another 3 or 4th round RB. That shit don’t work.

  • BPA this. BPA that.

Look yo…when wet toilet paper is better at stuffing the run than your dline is…it has to be addressed.

That said, if by miracle Nelson falls to 13, get that mofo on the team and go DT in the 2nd.

  • Bad Reputation

    From Keim:

There are two legitimate choices at 13: Da’Ron Payne and Vita Vea; the Redskins, according to multiple sources, appear to be higher on Payne. It’s not a lock that they’d draft a lineman here. They also seem to like Tim Settle, whom they could possibly target in the third round (again, if they acquire a pick) at the latest.

  • Squinnsamania, brother!

Re-thinking this whole Alex Smith trade. Traded away a third rounder (guaranteed starter) and a starting caliber CB for only one player. Way I see it, we lost two starters for an over-the-hill expensive QB; a net loss of one starter. SMDH.

    • walter_in_fallschurch

      shirley, you jest.

    • You might want to go back and check out a few years of our 3rd round pick before marrying yourself to poo-pooing the Smith trade.

    • our FO shit the bed with our starting qb so we had to get a qb…well…we did and only time will tell if we over paid…I hate losing Fuller and don’t feel like some up here that he’ll be easily replaced. I hope I’m wrong about that!

      • Squinnsamania, brother!

We could have traded next year’s first with this year’s first and moved up to like a top 6 pick and probably gotten a QB. Still would have had this year’s third rounder AND a really good CB.

  • Bad Reputation

What do you think our draft board looks like this year? No McGlue influence. And since we’re not really in the market for QB do you think we have those 4 or 5 guys ranked up in the top spots even tho they probably are being reached for?

  • Stop fretting over if Payne is projected in the 20’s or not. Not one of these guys has played one down yet and many won’t be the stars they were PROJECTED to be. Others will surprise on the upside. Take a lineman please at 13, if no one trade down with us, please.

  • Not surprised that I’m good with Payne at 13
He and JAllen will wreak havoc

    • He could turn to be a monster if he plays like he did in the playoff series. My concern is that he turns out to be the guy he was in the other 33 games he played.

      • He occupied space and linemen while others made the plays? Perhaps Saban had him doing exactly that?

    • Amen!

  • I’d love to be able to trade down, but who is desirous of moving to #13 with us?

    • Bad Reputation

Unless a QB is there and Arizona or somebody or even NE wants to trade up not sure we will have a dance partner.

    • Baltimore
      Chargers
      NO
      Cardinals
      NE

      • If someone wants to dance with us at 13, I’m all in. That’s my #1 option

      • I won’t mind if we get our 3rd round pick back or better, nothing less than that tho

        • Absolutely, which is a hefty price.

        • You asked, who’s going to trade up to 13?

I’ll tell you…someone so far back that, that third round pick you want so bad would be in the late 90s. Now,I’m not saying you cn’t find a starter in the late 90s. But… come one. The only thing a 3rd round pick has over a 4th round pick is that it’s one round higher.

  • Bad Reputation

OK so who would you want if we had a choice of Edge Rusher, ILB, FS, or Corner at 13. Vea is gone. Do the DL folk still think we should reach for Payne? I am a DL guy, but I don’t know if that’s the best move at 13.

    • I’m a big NO on Payne at 13.

      • Bad Reputation

I think a safety or corner is also risky at 13. We need to get beefier. I might take Hernandez at 13 then. He’s gonna be an immediate starter and pairing him with Scherff along that line would be awesome for our run game.

        • I think we take James, Fitz or Ward if Vea is gone

        • I’d have no problem taking Derwin, Minkah, or Denzel Ward. They may not have the immediate impact some others would, but in the long run they will be huge contributors. BPA over PON.

  • Is vita so good or has the potential to be so good that you cannot pass up the opportunity

    • I think he has All-Pro potential, but you still have to ask, “compared to what?” Trade down? Another player?

      • Bad Reputation

He wont get past Oakland or Miami. I think we’re gonna be reaching for whoever we pick at 13, Guice, Payne, or one of the corners or safeties.

        • Just no on Guice at 13
          Ugh

          • Bad Reputation

I don’t think we would. But Payne at 13 is a reach too. He’s projected in the 20s. Guice I’ve seen in the 2nd. I guess we have to hope a guy like Nelson, or Vea slips to us.

          • If 13 rolls around and Vea, RSmith, DJames, Edmunds, and Minkah are all gone, I’d take Wynn or Hernandez over Guice or Payne.

        • Hard to predict, especially as there will probably be trades ahead of us. Of the guys being associated with us I’d say the only reaches at 13 would be Guice and Payne. I’d still like those guys if we can trade into the late teens or 20s.

    • IMO his ceiling would be if he develops into a player similar to Haloti Ngata, which isn’t bad.

    • He is the wind beneath my wings
      He is the cat’s meow
He is the Yang to my Ying
      He is a sunrise
He is A1 on a Waffle House T-Bone
He is the salt on my margarita
      He is Hillary, victorious

    • Vita is a helluva athlete. only doubt in my mind is if he takes some plays off. I think either James, Fitz or he will fall to us at 13.

  • Bad Reputation

So the over under for wins for us this year is 5.5. That’s low. Teams like SF, IND, LAC, and NYG all have higher over unders for wins. We are last in SB odds tied with Tampa and CLE. WOW. Vegas does not like the Skins this year.

  • “I dont see James making it to 13. I’d pass on R Smith. Vea…just not real sure he can hang at 347 pounds as everydown D player…just common sense. 3 and 4 more days and we can turn the page.”
    ——————
Going to be a crapshoot as far as whether any of those three make it to 13. If one, and only one, does, I’d take him regardless of position. As far as Vea being an every-down player … none of our DL plays every down. Like most teams we platoon those guys and none of them play more than 60 – 70% of the snaps.

i like the talk lately from the idiots… er… pundits thinking lots of qbs will go early. berry berry good for us.

    all hail alex smith!

A shooting rampage that began early Sunday in Nashville triggered a frantic search for the suspected gunman, Travis Reinking. Months earlier, authorities arrested Reinking for trying to breach a barrier near the White House and later seized his guns. The guns, however, were later returned to Reinking’s father, who has acknowledged he gave them back to his son, officials said.

so…. the father is being charged with conspiracy to murder or at least abetting a murder? right?

    • I imagine he’s gonna get kicked in the nuts, being how this is probably pretty embarrassing for law enforcement.

  • NFL Draft 3 DAYS: 11 HOURS: 44 MINUTES

  • Why call PG? He made his desire to leave the team known. And we already knew it’d be huge money to keep him. Also, they went young at WR.

  • They let Breeland go because they’ve got depth at the position and needed to spend the money at other positions.

  • BA’s rank is being influenced by KSFTG and the McGlue fallout

    • I think it has something to do with both of those items but also his overall record is horrible you have to be judged on your record.

      • Maybe for Snyder, BA’s brand of shrewd asshole is how things are done. Probably sees a lot himself in BA.

        • walter_in_fallschurch

on the other hand, maybe he needs to be graded on a curve…. because, you know…. snyder.

in that vein, i consider joe gibbs’s second tenure almost as impressive as his first. he got to the playoffs in 2 of 4 years?! with this ish-show?

      • I think if you add in free agency failures. It isn’t good

  • 14th toughest schedule

  • Yea…why didn’t you keep him talking. Byner, like Doc…has plenty to say.

Now I gotta listen to you guys for the rest of the show?

  • Dez working out for Ginas?

  • Former Notre Dame DL Schwenke and UDFA dies at 25

  • I partially quoted a Byner tweet this weekend…and low and behold. I like his take on this years RBs /Guice etc.

Doug Williams wants to address a RB area the Skins dont have but fans freak out when peeps mock a RB at top pick. Who says the ” 2nd tier ” RBs on the Skins board dont go 30th or 40 41 42 and/or 43rd pick ?? Risk missing out imo. I have to agree w Byner on R. Penny…maybe later rd pick but his skill will transfer w right coach / line etc perhaps. Me..I pass.

    We will see.

I dont see James making it to 13. I’d pass on R Smith. Vea…not sure he can hang at 347 pounds as everydown D player…just common sense. 3 and 4 more days and we can turn the page.

  • If you meet him in the hole you got something for his ass right there

  • Kon,
I drive the mkz, yes they give me a loaner when or if i need to drop it off for service.

  • Happy Monday!
