Washington guard Brandon Scherff and defensive end Chase Young have been named to the 2021 Pro Bowl.  Scherff was selected as a starter.  With these honors, Washington has now produced at least two Pro Bowlers for five consecutive seasons.

This is Scherff’s fourth Pro Bowl selection in his career, making him one of only six Washington offensive linemen in team history to have achieved that distinction.  The others include Trent Williams, Chris Samuels, Len Hauss, Joe Jacoby, and Russ Grimm.

Young is just the eighth rookie in team history to be named to a Pro Bowl, and the first since Robert Griffin III in 2012.  Brian Orakpo and Paul Krause are the only other Washington defensive rookies to be so honored.  Young is also youngest player in Washington history to be selected.

The NFL canceled the 2021 Pro Bowl game itself due to coronavirus concerns, and it will be played virtually using Madden NFL 21 by EA SPORTS.  The league will host a week-long series of matchups featuring various celebrities, NFL legends, current players, and streamers playing with the NFL’s official Pro Bowl rosters in the Madden game.
