Rob Kelley – Just Sticking to the Script

I was fortunate enough to speak to Redskins running back Robert Kelley during day 2 of training camp. Kelley is excited for the season, and stated that he wants to improve on sticking to the script, trusting himself, and his blockers.

I asked Rob what he’s been focusing on this year, in terms of improving as a player:

“I think just believing in my abilities and my lineman’s abilities. You hear guys talking about how good our O line is, and I think we have a pretty good O line, last year myself I think I left some yards out there and I think if I’d have stuck to the script and played behind my o line and hogs that we have I think I could’ve done a little better.”

Everyone has things they want to improve upon, whether it be their character, a craft, habits, and other things. When it comes to Rob Kelley, he burst onto the scene with the Redskins last year, earning him the starting role heading into week 1 of this season.  Robert has a great opportunity in front of him this year to improve upon what already was an outstanding season for the undrafted free agent out of Tulane.
